Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should we book?
Most couples book 12–24 months in advance, especially for peak dates between May and September. However I can do one wedding on one day so if your are getting married even in the next couple of weeks and I’m available then I’m more than happy to take last minute bookings too.
What parts of the day can you play for?
I can provide live piano music for any part of your wedding day, including:
• Ceremony (guest arrival, aisle entrance, signing, exit)
• Drinks reception
• Wedding breakfast
You’re welcome to book one, two or three parts of the day.
Can we choose our own songs?
Absolutely. Your music should feel personal to you.
You can choose from my extensive repertoire list, and I’m always happy to learn special requests — including modern chart songs, film music, musicals and meaningful favourites.
How many song requests can we make?
You can request as many songs as you like from my repertoire list.
I also include a number of new song requests within your booking, particularly for key moments like the aisle entrance and signing of the register. If you have lots of new ideas, just let me know and I’ll always try to accommodate.
What happens if our ceremony runs late?
Weddings rarely run exactly to time — and that’s completely fine.
I always allow flexibility within my schedule so the music flows naturally with your day, rather than feeling rushed or cut short.
Do you provide your own piano and equipment?
Yes. I provide a professional stage piano housed in a Dutchgrand black shell.
How long do you typically play for?
This depends on which parts of the day you book. As a guide:
• Ceremony: approx. 20–30 mins guest arrival + key moments
• Drinks reception: usually 1.5–2 hours
• Wedding breakfast: up to 2 hours or tailored to your schedule
Everything is customised to fit your timeline.
Can you play outdoors?
Yes — as long as there is suitable cover and access to a power supply.
Most venues are experienced in setting up outdoor ceremony or drinks areas, and I’m happy to liaise with them directly if needed.
Do you need a break?
For shorter bookings like ceremonies or drinks receptions, no break is needed.
For longer performances (such as wedding breakfast), I’ll take a short, unobtrusive break at an appropriate moment.
Are you insured?
Yes. I hold full Public Liability Insurance and PAT certificates which most venues require. These can be provided on request.
What happens if you’re ill or unable to attend?
In the extremely unlikely event I cannot attend, I would try my upmost to find a suitable replacement or recommendation.
How do we book?
To secure your date, simply get in touch with your wedding date and venue.
If I’m available I then send the booking 20% deposit details to secure the date for you and the final balance is due 4 weeks prior to the big day.
When do we finalise our music choices?
Around 6-8 weeks before your wedding, I’ll be in touch to finalise timings, song choices and all the finer details. By then, most couples have a clearer idea of what they’d love — I’m also available anytime to help with making your choices and running your requests by me.

To have Morgan play ‘Here Comes the Bride’ as I walked down the aisle was a moment I will never forget, then our favourite songs being played during the signing of the register and Stevie Wonder ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ as we walked out as a newly married couple was amazing. During the drinks reception everyone commented on what beautiful background music Morgan was playing and then where do I start with the wedding breakfast music… ?! As Morgan played Alicia Keys, one or two family members started to sing and before we knew it, the whole room was singing along to tune after tune and it created the most unbelievable atmosphere. Even the staff who were waiting on joined in! Seeing everybody on their feet, arms in the air, singing along to ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ was just incredible! The piano music during the day definitely made our wedding day complete. And it would not have been the same without it. Thank you!

Mr & Mrs Benzeval
Honestly, it’s difficult to put into words. Our wedding was a hugely emotional day and I was crying with happiness for a good hour before I left the prep room. When the door opened and I could hear Morgan playing Annie’s song, the tears started again and I made everyone stop and listen (making me later than I already was!!) I will never forget being ready to walk down the aisle with my Dad and taking in the music and the emotion that came from it was just incredible. As my new husband and I were signing the register, I remember glancing over because the music was so beautiful and catching Morgan’s eye – even just remembering it, I am getting emotional! Every one commented on what a fantastic choice Morgan was and how his amazing music really set the tone for the day. My little Nan especially enjoyed ‘Can’t take my eyes off you’ during the wedding breakfast!

Mr & Mrs Lane
